Oliver Fabian Kummer studied law and English law in Passau, Cologne and Berlin. As a trainee lawyer, he worked in Berlin at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz theatre and with the Senator of Culture. After being admitted to the bar in 1997, he worked as an associate lawyer, then as a scientific advisor at the Brandenburg Federal State Parliament, and from 2001 to 2003 as artistic director of operations at the Schauspielhaus Zürich theatre under Christoph Marthaler. Since 2004, he has been working as an independent lawyer in Berlin, initially for Heller & Partner, with the Brauner law office since its founding in 2009, and since 2014 as an individual lawyer. In 2010 he completed his Master's degree in European Law at Passau University (in cooperation with the Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck) with his thesis on European and international copyright law and was awarded the Master of Laws degree (LL. M.). Since the summer semester 2015 he has been a lecturer in contract and employment law at the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy", since the winter semster 2020/2021 in copyright, media, contract and employment law at theatre at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin too.
